Week 7: Assignment

Teachers in my opinion should be very familiar and understand all of the research that will be required in your classroom. The society we live in today revolves around technology and it is very fast paced, and we need to go above and beyond the call of a teacher for our students to ensure that they will grow up to be an attribute to the society. A teacher should try to do whatever it takes.  For example if you have a student that doesn't quite understand a subject you should reach into your toolbox of teaching methods and use something else and majority of that time it could have something to do with technology, I can't stress with how important it is to include technology in today's classroom.

As far as online chats are concerned, I believe that they could be beneficial as long as you know the people you are talking to and you stay professional as well as keep it closely monitored. Try to have a topic pointed out and try to stay on that specific topic. This is a great way to correspond with your members in a homework group or as a way to help your students as a teacher in outside of school ours (Keep it Professional). The teacher can even use educational video games, podcast, and a lot of other communication forms that will be beneficial in and outside of the classroom.

I believe that there is both advantages and disadvantages in text-based conversations compared to face-to-face conversations.  With text-based you can say what you need to say and it seems to be a lot easier staying on task. Where as with face to face you can easily get interrupted and off task.  But with face-to-face you can also present body style in with your conversation and give physical examples, where with text-based you can't give any physical examples.

To tell the truth in my field of study I don't do a lot of technology and internet based work, a lot of my work is hands on, and I truly don't like video games unless they contain come kind of educational value. Still then I think that video games in general should not be played for more than 30 minutes to an hour. I do believe that you shouldn't give up on a student. You should make sure that the student fully understands the information that your trying to relay.
